I am looking to replace my qjet in the next year or so. Whats a Typical Cliffs carb run?
I dont need the Biggest or the best. Just curious about the wait too. Thanks. What exact Info do I need to tell cliff also about the car.

You will probably be able to get facts instead of guesses if you contact him directly.
I can tell you it takes a few weeks and the cost is about the same as a very questionable item from a commercial rebuilder like TOMCO or Autolite or Holley that you get from the locAl auto store. Cliff doesnt do little carbs or big carbs or the best carbs, he treats every customer and their carb the same. Its custom rebuilt to what you need.

If your thinking about Cliff doing your carb, send it in as soon as possible, when I sent mine in , I was told there was about 60 carbs in front of mine. That was over a month ago.

I have a Qjet But I believe its a Chevy carb of Unknown Origin. I have one to spare but it was a reman and I heard Those are FUBAR from the factory because of The GENERAL TUNE and Grease monkeys Filling the Wrong holes with epoxy. I doubt The one that came on the car is a Pontiac Specific Qjet But maybe That one Would be better to send than the REMANNED one I have laying around.

Just got my carb back from Cliff. I had sent it to another rebuilder a few years back and had it rebuilt. Never ran great. Cliff talked to me on the phone for near an hour as he went through my carb step by step to tune it. Just bolted it on and took it out for a test drive. Runs way better than it ever has. Cliff tested it on his own car and said it ran like a "scalded dog". That pretty much sums it up for me. Ken

Cliff normally has a lot of work stacked up as it keeps coming in. His reputation and attention to detail keep people coming back.
You can call the shop @ 740-397-2921 or email him @ [email protected] or [email protected]. Cliff usually hates to work on the remaned ones for some of the very reasons you mentioned. Talk to him first before sending anything in as he may have a better core for you to start off with. Kev

Thanks all for the kind words. We are continuing to do everything possible to produce the best carb possible. I spent a full day tuning a q-jet for a 400 last Wednesday on KRE's dyno. We tested it right off the bench, then jetted it in both directions and it ran best right where we had it. Then carried 3 carbs to the track for testing on Friday. Then two more tonight to our local track for test and tune.
Sorry for the long turn around times, but rest assured we're working as hard as possible to get them done!......Cliff

Cliff. Thanks again for all of your help. The work you did made a huge improvement. Especially at part throttle and light throttle. Regards. Ken
