One hot car and I'm sure it will fetch an incredible price if it's a correct PHS documented Judge convertible.

Is that for real? Is it private so nobody can see that it's being boosted? Is it an ego booster?
Take it out of the trailer and drive it like you stole it - if she breaks - fix her and do it again.

Hey Boss:
Check out the discussion under "Wanted 69 or 70 RAIV Judge". Several members suggest reasons for keeping the bidders' identities private. I agree with you though, it does make me suspicious. |

I've met the guy selling it - he's for real.
Nice guy that has way too much money (he makes the floor pans and other sheet metal that you buy from year one)...also makes some of the ram air repro headers It's a gorgeous car....completely mint from what i saw. If there's as much as a scratch or nick on one of his cars, he'll pay to have it restored....replaced - whatever

sawyer,
In answer to your question, I always have the same answer to anyone asking about Tony or CustomclassicGTO,... run don't walk from him !! He used to operate in FL., and was run out of there. The prices he says he sells cars for are made up. He tells everyone about his worldwide "GTO restoration reputation". yet, you ask any of the top people at GTOAA, and they think he's a clown. Years ago I almost gave him a $20,000 deposit on a 69 Judge resto. Someone tippped me off,I called and told him I changed my mind. Never badmouthed him or anything. He kept calling me for weeks. He got my secretary to give her my cell phone number, and he kept calling, until I told him already bought another one, and he hung up. |

I know of a very recent, private sale of a '69 Judge convert that sold for well over the current bid of $150K on this car. It was also a concourse car but an older restoration. I know this seems hard to believe but I know the guy who sold it and this is first hand information.
Other results on ebay show this to be the trend with the Judge converts. Even a year ago, a low end driver sold for $92K and a basket case project went for $60K! Some auction service (Mecum's, I think) sold a '70 Judge convert last year for $180K. That was amazingly high for a '70 (and "only" a RA III), which usually sell for quite a bit less than the 69's, but that just shows what is going on right now. I didn't expect to see this car hit $150K on ebay but it will be interesting to see where it ends up. It makes me wonder what the reserve price is...

Before i bid that kind of $$$, I first want a copy of PHS doc's ordered by me, and delivered to me. Then i fly in with my trusty spec code book in hand and spend an hour or two "under the hood'.
Then check out other doc's. if I can't do these things successfully, it's a waste of $$ |

looks like a very nice car. i understand the buyer wanting to keep bidders pivate. i have sold on ebay before and it keeps others from contacting your bidders to try and sell them there cars saving them time and money to list theres. i also dont think he is on crack he is just aware of the market and he has a rare car in nice shape. noted he no sold at well over $197000.00 theres alot to be said about the muscle car market. supply and demand

I was at the Mecum auction where a 70 Judge convertible sold for $180,000. Same auction had a one of a kind 68 camaro Z28 convertible (that was made special for Pete Estes) reach $1,000,000 and not meet the reserve. Was fun to watch. Same auction is coming up this Memorial day weekend. It is at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Belvidere IL, (near Rockford)

That's not true. It's all a matter of supply and demand. Once you Baby Boomers start dropping like flies, I will benefit.

im all for these cars going up in value,I OWN A JUDGE, but now its gonna get even harder to get a halfway decent car to restore or for parts.
i have several judges in my area some are affordable, some are way too expensive & need way too much work, & some are just rotting away NOT FOR SALE
