Did all '72 GTO's come with a core support cover which went from the radiator shroud to the front bumper cover? I saw a low mileage original car that did not have one. The original owner swore that it came from the factory that way. The original tune-up sticker was still intact on the LH side of the core support and has never been replaced. He claimed that only A/C cars only had this cover. I have also seen cars with and without them. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Have owned several '72 400 GTO's, all A/C cars. None of them had or showed evidence of this filler. Have owned a bunch of 350 2bbl A/C equipped T41 rubber nose LeMans , both 71 & 72, & none showed evidence of it either.

'71 factory Asm Manual shows this filler was available on endura nosed cars with A/C when combined with L75 455 D-port OR LS5 455HO engines AND produced AFTER the strike was over (after Nov 18th, 1970). A 455 Dport equipted '71 GTO, I owned till 94, had one on it originally..."someone" kept it... for another car

If you are experiencing cooling prob's or just like the "finished" look, Performance Years now stocks a NEW repro, that is real nice!

Just finished the frame off resto 3 months ago, it was highly optioned,PHS docum. 1 of 5, it was brittany beige, with the black gt stripes, 455 H/O, w/ ram air, auto W/ console , ralley gauges, tach, buckets, unitized distr.,308 posi rear, am/fm radio, dark saddle interior, white top ,deluxe seatbelts, endura front, handling package, disc brakes,p/w windows, trunk & underhoodlights, ect.. I kept everything original except I painted it cameo white, and I put gold and white pearl in the first clearcloat, and I put a rear spoiler on it ( oh so what, I like them!)then cleared it 4 more times, man it`s beautiful! NO 455 HO built in Oshawa in 72 as no rubbber nose cars were made, which was part of the package. They did build GTOz again in '73 though.
