After looking at a bunch of pictures where is the ignition coil supposed to be placed on a 64 GTO 389 4 bbl car. 4 speed car. I see it behind the head, behind the carb, on the firewall etc. Confused a little.

Doyles, I've had three 64's and they all had the coil bracket mounted on the rear of the passenger side head. I have seen them mounted at the rear of the carb, but that was someone's brainstorm and not the way the car originally came. The hole in the manifold where the bracket was mounted is the same hole that is supposed to have the bolt which is holding the spark plug wire bracket in place.
