I want to make the switch to Mobile 1 but not sure if the engine is ready. It has approx. 700miles I have been driving it like I stole it from day one and maybe 20 passes.
Is it too soon? |

I would wait until you get atleast 1000+ miles on it. That way you will know that it is broken in good.

Once the rings are seated it's fine to switch. Shouldn't take more than a dozen passes at most.

I have used Syn for years in the race-cars..Change after 7-8 passes down the strip..
Also use it in my street cars, worth 1 mpg..I believe if you check most of the new cars all use syn.......You can eat-off the top of the motor. Good-Luck, Dave..1033/stock |

Does synthetic oil dissipate heat better that a petroleum based oil?

I would have to say yes. But I am not a chemical engineer. But regardless of what anyone says synthetic oil is night and better than regular refined oil. Just my 2 cents.

Wade, I missed your post. I got the rear seal last week. It came in such a small package, it looked like regular mail, so I almost didn't notice I got it! Good thing I didn't throw it out with all the junk mail I get!
Since my wife also ordered the distributor gear from you guys, she asked me "Why are all these engine parts so small?"

There is a sale on Mobile 1 engine oil in my local auto shop this week and I was gonna buy some last night but I was not sure which to choose. Not only are there different grades but also catagories for "High mileage" and also for "Newer" cars.
I want to get some before the sale is over, any recommendations, the car is not winter driven and the outside temps range from 45F to 85F from May to Oct. |
