I have been looking through the Year One and Origianl Parts Group catalogs for the quarters and floor board patch panels. In your opinions, where can I go for good quality panels? Thank you for your advice!

I got all my panels (Floor pans, trunk pans, wheel wells, 1/4 patch panel and flair panel from Goodmark. Very happy with them. Good quality in my eyes. I like the fact that they will work with you on shipping as well. Shipping to Alaska sucks but Goodmark worked with me.

Most of the panels are manufactured by the same company. I find Ames to be great in regards to their product turnover, shipping. Anthony

I was going to order from Ames, I used there online ordering form to see how much shipping was going to be and it was half the cost of the order for shipping, 700 for parts 350 for shipping, and I live in RI. I was ordering floor pans and braces plus i couldnt even get the delivered to my house had to be delivered to a commercial address.

Wow that's a ton for shipping, but then again that's big stuff.
With Ames, what you can do is order your stuff and go to one of the shows/swapmeets they do. They'll bring it along and you can pick it up there for "free". It'll cost you the price of admission to the swap meet and gas to get there.
Bummer part is waiting for them to do a show near you. They have a list of shows they're doing on their website.

I find Ames to be very honest in their product descriptions... if it's not right they tell you so ...UPFRONT!

If you call Ames to see how much shipping would be, it might end up being cheaper. When i ordered some trunk panels from Year One i checked the shipping price on their website and it was almost $100 more than ordering by phone. The guy at Year One told me that the computer system does pricing by boxing each part independently, but some parts can be boxed together costing less money for shipping.

FYI, all the quarters come from the same place...China. I replaced the rear quarters on my 68 and they were excellent. Factory was about 20 gauge, these are 22 gauge which is rather thick by today's standards. I bought mine from Ames and picked them up there to save on shipping and get a cash discount, but OPG told me the ones they sold were the same. Anyway everything was perfect, the Arrowhead marker light was in the correct location and the final test....the wheel lip moldings fit perfectly. At $145 per side a bargain too! I could have patched mine but why...its less work to just cut out what's bad and weld these in.

It seems that the parts for the 68 and newer cars are a lot more readily available and the quality is much higher than the 64-67 at least thats what it seems like to me. Like you can get full floor pans and full trunk pans for the 68-72 but for the 64-67 they come in pieces that need to be welded together.

Funny thing is when I had my 68 Lemans in High school parts were hard to find for it too. Maybe i just dont know where to look.

I thought about going to NH but the catalog says the dont have a retail store so you cant pick stuff up. Maybe i misread that

Try shipping this stuff to Alaska. You want to talk high shipping cost, ship something to Alaska. However, I did order the complete floor pan kit, trunk pan kit, rear 1/4 patch panels and flairs, inner and outer wheel wells for our 68 GTO from Ames. I bought all of this at once and shipping was $325 but they "drop shipped" it from Goodmark, that saved a bundle. Goodmark ships at a great price and good packing. I know Ames gets their stuff from Goodmark.

They don't like to have people picking stuff up but they will work with you if you're getting large stuff. I've picked up things up there before.

Frank is right though. If you're only getting body parts the place he mentioned is in Middlefield, CT and only a couple hours away from you.
