Like the song says "Like a virgin" It's my very 1st time on here.... .Need info on how to and what the #'s mean on data plate Are any options id on the plate? or engine or tranny like on my old chevy? Have pt. and tr. it's the rest I need .

You can start with this photo.
No, no options or motor on the data plate. If the VIN on the engine block matches the car, you can determine the engine/tranny from the two letter engine block code on the front, passenger side, just below the head. Also, you can get the Pontiac Historical Document which will tell you all about the original drivetrain, colors, options, etc. |
