allright, and the final; question will a performer rpm clear the hood of a 1970 gto

Yes, it will clear. Even the Torker2 clears with a spacer on my 70 goats.

I had to take 0.060" of of my Performer RPM to get the ports to match. Not only cost me $160, but took forever to find a machine shop with the capability to do it. This is mounted on a stock height block with new Edelbrock heads. You would think Edelbrock would be able to make a better match than this with their heads.

id measure the height of the rpm and double check...wouldnt clear my formula hood...

SHould be not proble, on hood clearance . A friend has one on his 71 GP hidden under the factory air cleaner and painted to match the motor.
