How much risk is there if both floor pans from the firewall rearward to the start of the rear seat pan are removed for '69 HT.

I purchased full-length pans and already completely removed the LH, but did not notice the lip that runs down the transmission hump and drive shaft length on the pan. The LH pan goes on top of the RH...

Question is this... being that I have to replace the RH pan as well as the center brace, how much risk is there of the body twisting if I remove the entire RH pan? I do have 1" tubular steel body braces between the A-pillar and lock post betwen both doors (see my Web page pictures) as well as have the vehicle on jack stands.

I would think that if the frame is still on, you shouldn't experience any twisting. And as long as you skip weld your new panels and/or let them cool down between beads, you shouldn't have any warpage either.

Please post your results. I have to tackle the same thing soon on my 69, but only the drivers side.

Hope this helps.
Jamie

btw, nice website!

You'll be fine . Take measurement before , during ,and after you install the floor . I would like to see you take the jack stands off and put the car down on it's wheels . Then after all the welding is done on the top side , then put it up on jack stands and weld the bottom .

Thank you gents. I did not think I would have had a problem but it is better to ask then guess and hope with crossed-fingers.
