OK I got a pretty simple question,I'm gonna be looking to buy a complete weatherstriping kit for my 1980 T/A,and I was just curious as to who makes the best fitting
and softest kit for it.Can someone give me some advice.Thanks alot Rob.. |

GM weatherstrip is probably the best you'll find but it's very costly. You may want to look into Metro Molded Rubber. I've got one of their kits and it fit very well and seals great. It was very affordable in the $125 range. Mine has been on the car since 97 and it still looks good.

GM all the way! I replaced teh trunk and window weatherstipping on my 79 with GM stuff I bought from Ames. The reproduction stuff (some of it, not all) is ok, but nothing has the same fit, appearance, and feel as the GM stuff.

I've just been through this with my 81 TA.
GM gets my first vote, second is Metro Molded. Soft Seals get a definite no, way too hard ends. I think its worth the price to shut the doors easier. Soft Seal would barely shut!! Sent them back.
