I NEED TO REPLACE THE DRIVERS SIDE QUARTER PANEL ON MY 65 LEMANS 2 DR HT. i KNOW SOME SUPPLIERS SELL THEM. CAN ANY OF YOU GUYS WHO HAVE DONE THIS TELL ME IF THERE IS ONE THAT FITS BETTER WITH LESS WORK THAN ANOTHER, OR WOULD I BE BETTER OFF TO TRY TO GET ONE FROM A GRAVE YARD. ANY ADVICE AND INPUT IS APPRECIATED THANKS

I would be intersted in someone's recommendation as well. Big question I have is how far up and around do the qtr pannels go. I have a dent on the peak of both Q-panels and was hoping the new one would cover that as well. obbyd don't mean to step on your post. Hoping between both questions we can get an answer

The 1/4s I purchased from year one went about 1 inch over the ridge line from front to rear. The spot you are showing would be covered with the new 1/4.

i'd guess that all of the 1/4's out now are manufactured by the same company and then distributed by the various vendors.
this brings you choice down to shipping costs and customer service. that being said i shrunk the dents out in my 1/4's and put the lower patches in them behind the wheels and fabbed a small patch over the wheel arch on one side. with that out in the open, i'd have been better off timewise hanging the 1/4's and being done with it.  my car's a driver so a little filler here and there doesn't bother me as long as it's done right and not too deep. mike

I was leaning toward purchasing them from Year 1, just didn't know if there were better one's out there. Talk about filler, diretly in front of the wheel well there is an 1" of filler. I knew it was there when I got it. Just didn't think it was that much. Thanks,

I purchased both full quarters from Year ONE before I found the PY site. I did all the welding and used a skim coat of filler where needed. It was the first time I had done this, not perfect but for a first timer it was fairly easy to do.

hey guys, I just posted a quest on 1/4's in Body Shop forum...i'm trying to find good supplier for the m for my 64 lemans convert...a company called Rolling Steel Body Parts of OH says it makes parts of OEM thickness and uses "galvaneal" metal for rust resisitance...not sure about this...any ideas or has anybody used them? thanks steve

I had fears of cheesy Chinese metal qtr panels. The thickness of the original panels is pretty impressive, so I went on Ebay and got a Qtr panel off a 4 door Tempest in Texas, What a job that was, but turned out good. My first weld job...Only problem was remembering where the GTO emblem holes where, as I chucked the old metal
 BTW any body got the hole measurements?
