My car is a non-judge. Hmmm ... maybe that is the difference that I'm seeing?

However to say that primer make little difference doesn't jive with the pictures we saw on the first link above that shows the same paint code with differning primers and they all look totally different!

I will say however, that the last pics that MARK put up show better. I've seen Fathom Blue and Twilight Blue (chevy and olds) at car shows and they look awesome (all are paint code 28.)

I just want to make sure the color is correct. I want to do this once!

(But I still like the pics taken by RANSOM on the first link above) Maybe it's the stripes?

More than anything, lighting will have a MASSIVE effect on how light or dark that paint will appear. In bright sunlight, it will tend to look lighter. Primer will ahve minimal effect, unless the paint is translucent.
Also- when shooting pictures in sunlight, most good photographers use a filter of some sort, to help balance color and minimize the glare. This also my be causing what you think is a difference in color. In reality, it may be just a difference in perception.
And, the GMP model is pretty much on the money.

Now there's training your kids right!

I love involving my boyz in this hobby as well! My son (17 1/2) got to drive my '65 Bonnie Convert with 421 HO Tripower and 4spd for the first time today. He's been beggin for years! After the temp got to 160 I told him to "hit it and see what it does.) He said; "I am." I said; "No you're not." He pushed the peddle real hard and the mechanical linkage kicked in and the 6bbl kicked in and it snapped him back into the seat!

I never saw a wide eyed smile so big!

Isn't this fun and what it's all about in the end?

I think a lot of the color differences can be attributed to two things, lighting and the number of coats of color applied. You would have to have the same exact lighting to compare colors and photos are a terrible way to compare. When painting dark colors the more coats of color you put on the darker the color gets. Colors like dark blue, maroons, browns and dark greens are most affected by this.
