started to remove my seats today working around work got the pas. seat out and the bottom part of the back seat but having a hard time trying to fig out how to get the top part of the seat out found to bolts on the bottom and cant see any other ones holding the seat in. are there any other bolt holding that. if not how do you take the top part of the seat out.
another q is that when i took the pas seat out i notice that there is a small spot that is rust it about 6in long and its a little bit smaller than a penny i was thinking of just cuting it out but its right near the bolts for the seat belt and the bolt for the seat what should i do?? thanks for all the help again |

To get the rear seat back out, remove the armrests, swing the bottom of the seat up towards you, and push the seat up, and back towards the rear window. There are two hooks it's resting on and it should come right out.
If it's just surface rust I'd just treat it with some rust cure (for instance POR-15) and put carpet over it. If it's rusted through I'd weld in new metal. |

Like was said, remove the two bolts, pull towards you slightly at the bottom, a couple of inches should do, and push up. The seat engages three tabs at the top. I did not have to remove the armrests to get the top portion out.
In fact, you can't remove the armrests before the seat as there are screws in the upper filler panel that need to come out, and to get to these, the top seat has to be out. Just pull out and push up. Don |
