I am toying with the idea of selling my 70 Judge and was just wondering what I could get for it. Here is the info:
PHS documented 70 Judge, originally white on red, now white on black. Numbers matching Ram Air III and M20 4 speed. Complete frame off restoration completed in 2003 PPG base clear paint, all new stripes, all new interior from the carpet to the headliner. Engine is completely new with around 500 miles on it. Bored .030 Clevite 77 bearings TRW forged pistons Rods resized and shotpeened and mag'd. Sealed Power rings Summit 2802 cam Ferrea Stainless valves Comp 1.5 roller tips Stock distributor reworked by Suntuned Original heads Original intake Transmission is fully rebuilt with all new synchro rings, bearings, gaskets and seals. Power disk brakes Power steering. Upgraded with power windows and power trunk release and tilt steering column. Original AM/FM stereo radio. Restoration photos are on my web site listed below. The restoration included all new chassis components, fuel lines, brake lines, gas tank, radiator, complete Ram Air setup. Way to many parts to list. So what do you think it would bring? Thanks |

Why did you change the interior - I would have thought the red would have looked great!

In hindsight I wish I hadn't. But I have always liked black interiors and my three previous Judges all had black.
It can always be changed back to red.. |

You don't remember me but you helped me tremendously with my Ram Air Cable attachment to the flappers. Sent my diagrams and pictures. This was about 3 years ago.
Thank you very much for your kindness. It's a shame that you're thinking of selling. Great car is going to bring in high 30's to mid-40's in my opinion. The black interior will be a help and not a hinderance (IMO.) If you were interested in some trade for my '65 Bonnie Convert with 421 HO Tripower and 4spd I'd be on it plus cash of course! Why would you ask that? Ive looked at the pics of the restoration and it clearly shows the body being restored.

No this is not a rebodied car - the only non original parts on it are the hood, New reproduction and rear bumper - rechromed I bought at Carlisle. Although I still have the original hood and rear bumper...

Well the idea of selling went right out the window as my wife talked my out of it last night.
She reminded me of all the work I put into it and how hard it would be to find another one, etc. etc. etc.. So I am going to keep it...

She is right Don, you tend to forget about the hours on end of work. Besides,you can never replace it again as total rot buckest with non original components are selling for big $$$$

I went through the same thing a few months ago when I thought about selling mine....Although now I really have decided to sell it (not changing my mind this time) and plan on sticking it on Ebay in the next couple of weeks. $$$

From my standpoint - unless you really need the money, it's not worth selling the rare stuff because you'll never be able to get it again. And lets face it, when was the last time you took your bank book or stock certificates for a blast around the block on a nice Saturday afternoon?

Hey A1Judge,
I have seen a few '70 Judges on Ebay go up to $45K and not meet reserve. I recently saw a red '69 sell for $55K and it was more of a "frame on" type restoration. From the pictures it looks like your car was done very nicely. I would say that white is not as desirable as some of the other colors, but if you were still thinking of selling, I would think people would not be surprised if you were asking $55 - $60K. |

Take a look at NADA.com they show a 70 Judge hardtop at $48,000 in #1 condition with 4-speed,RAIII and Rally II's, go to NADA, click classics, then musclecars.

Those books don't know jack! Could have gotten $60k for our '69 RA III two years ago. I would have taken it, but my father said he may not be around long enough to do another. Took us three and a half years to do this one, and three genertions worked on it, so it's hard to put a price on that. I have recently seen some prices that make me believe that he did the right thing. This car has every original panel and the original pistons in the engine, so who's to say what it is worth. I don't see many to compare it to. The same car on E-bay didn't meet reserve at $125k. My dad has @ $35k in his. We were teasing him at the Nat's that if he wanted to trade his car and $100k, he could have that car. People aren't selling Judges right now, they are buying them.
