I have a 95 Grand Am. It will not start with the key.It won't turn over. I can jump it at the starter and it will crank. Any idea? Ignition Switch? Thanks

Shifter in Park?
Try Neutral?

Might be the Neutral safety switch.

About the only thing we sell to our shop on that year model with that sympton is the ignition switch. Ok, checked with them. That is what our techs say is most likely.

Would that be the key switch or the switch on the bottom of steering colum? Thanks

its the switch on the opposit side of the key
there is a recall for ign switch problem
and to install a new relay
call a gm dealer and have them VIS the car for the recall
or check the purple wire at the starter for power, while someone cranks the ign.
if now power, then check the purple wire coming out of the switch in the column ( No power=bad switch)
