assembling my int. finally got around to putting inner latch on. door works fine from outside of car. but sit inside and takes 3 or more pulls before door will unlatch. what or where shall I begin to trouble shoot glitch? I have lubed entire mechinism and striker. thanks in advance 4/6

Your problem lies in the door latch release mechanism. The latch gets "wallered" out over time. They are left and right, so make sure you get a driver side mechanism, not a passenger side. These items often go overlooked. If you can find a 4 door car, get the rear ones, as they tend not be be used as much. Put those in and it should "pop" open like new.

thanks PB, I will tear into this today, cool: okay ,I see the problem, the "wabble" is from ware of either the latch shaft or bore. there is not too much play in mine though. I think when I installed the window mechinism I must of bent the pull rod. there is about a 1/4 inch of pull before the rod begins to move...I am going to try & take this slack up with a little bending of the rod. thanks again PB.

No problem slash, had this problem many moons ago. Bending the rod will help a bit and get more life out of your current ones. If you put ones in where the centers are good, you will see a HUGE improvement.

YEAH THATS A GOOD ONE JACK,...how bout "welp" I seen someone begin a sentence with that, love that word, just cant find it in the dictionary. PB I ended up bending the latch throw forward 1/4 inch or so, thus eating up the initial slack. door works as new
