IIRC, the Corvair Van four speed/trans axles are what you need to look for for the Tempest. They have extra spiders and stronger gear sets. I don't know that the Corvair car boxes will fit?

Jon,what engine do you want to put in front of it?Try Ken at East West auto in Olk.NOT cheap but usually has what you need.Tom

SDStanley, please keep me posted on your later corvair transaxle upgrade, that seems like possible solution.
