Just a question. Why would someone pay $550 for a roller cam from you when you could get one ground or a in stock one from say Comp for $350? And no, I have not asked about a specific price for a custom ground roller cam. But you think it would cost an extra $200 to have a company custom grind a roller cam?
Usually a cam company will grind you any one you want for a nominal fee. Not a critisism. You guys make some SUPERIOR products. Also, are these cams hyd or solid rollers? Just trying to weigh my options when I do in fact buy a roller for my EFI E-head 455. Thanks. |

Comp Cams charges around $700 for a roller cam made by hand to your specifications. (not one of their off the shelf cnc lobe patterns)

I had a custom Supercharger cam ground for Jimmy Keen's motor the year he won the Hot Rod World Championship in Super Street. It cost $650.00
and I was a WD. I paid more because they had to create a round cam for a 347 cid Ford. In Wade's case he has already done that for us Pontiac Guys! I will have one of his cams someday. Tom V.

Thanks for the input guys. The other issue is the oversized needle bearing. In the past to run needles you had to go to 1.875 making the journal smaller by grinding a stock core. By going larger 1.970 you get the advantage of ease of install with high lifts, and bigger lobes which can translate into better ramp transitions. You can't do this or unique profiles with the standard cores that are available.
