I just tore down the engine in mt 65 GTO. It is a 73 model 400. The part number on the cam is 540233, The only info I can find is that it is a 61-62
SD 389. It is listed as a mechanical cam. However my engine has hydraulic lifters. The cam looks relatively new with very little wear. Is this the only Pontiac cam with this part # or an aftermarket grind. The end of the cam is stamped 1082R. Does anyone have any info that can help Thanks Danno |

That doesn't seem to be a factory cam. http://pontiacdude.cc/ He has a list of cams but those numbers are not there. It's not a comp cams number either.

Could that be a 1022r and not a 1082r? Speed-pro made a 1022r cam for Pontiacs, it was a 214/224 duration cam.
