I bow humbly in the presence of the Pontiac Gods on this site. I am in a conundrum of sorts and am in need of assistance. There is a small debate going on locally about a Pontiac engine available only in '66 and '67. I have my doubts that this animal even exists, but will not dare to poo poo anyone until I have a more knowledgeable answer to take back to the table. In these previously mentioned years, did Pontiac ever offer a 396 ci mill in the Paresienne, or any other PMD land yacht for that matter? I know of the 396 Bowtie power plant, but have never heard of a Poncho offered 396. I know there was a 326 as well as 389, what years I haven't the foggiest, but what is of the elusive "396" Pontiac. The question is now in the hands of the most profound and experienced PMD builders in the history of mankind. I know,,I know,,I really should know better.

Since I see your location is in Canada, is it safe to guess that your are asking this in reference to Canadian built Pontiacs? If so it probably be possible for them to have a Chevy 396 in them back then since the Canadian Pontiacs had Chevy drivetrains in them.

You are absolutely right. I remember the morons in Oshawa building the Pontiacs with Bowtie mills. Only in Canada Eh? Why I didn't think of that before my post I don't know. I better not poo poo him as we were both right and both wrong. They did come with the 396 but it wasn't Pontiac. Thanks a bunch.

Pontiacs were sold from GM dealerships in Australia from about 1960 through to 1968-70 & then stopped. Only Laurentians & Parisiennes were avaliable. The L's had the Chebby 283 & the P's had the 327.
