changing bulbs in gauges please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how do i change the lightbulbs from the battery gauge the gas gauge and the clock gauge is there a trick to it please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I recall, the little fittings just pop right out. Wiggling helps. Maybe some other member can verify this...

The easiest way is to remove the dashpad and do it from the top. They just pop out, you swap the bulbs and pop them back in. If you've got long arms you can do it without removing the dashpad from below. It is a bit of a pain and time consuming though.

I assume it is similar procedure (only different position) for the speedometer bulbs?

Mike on a 65 there are 11(12 with parking brake warning light) on the speedo. All #1895 (6 backlights, 2 turn signals, 1 highbeam, 1 oil, 1 temp, 1 brake if equiped)

Depending on the year - '63 & '64 would be easier to remove dashpad. '66, & I believe '65, you must remove wipers, cowl etc. to get the pad off. '66 has a spring clip on the back of the gauge. This is relatively easily released & removed by pushing a slim flat blade screwdriver into the slot at the bottom of the guage & pushing the gauge upwards towards the dashpad. Then you can put a smaller still flatblade into the clip that holds the bulb into the back of the gauge & pry it out.
