Yes, the lobe placement is totally unique to the Pontiac hemi. It's not even like the early Chrysler hemi due to the Chrysler having the right cylinder bank staggered to the rear, instead of the left, like a Pontiac, plus the Chrysler lifter axes not being at ninety degrees to each other.

It's not an easy task to describe the lobe placement to a cam grinder- and have confidence that he'll get it right. I was fortunate enough to buy one of Mickey's hemi cams, so I could loan it out as a pattern for lobe placement.
