Andre: How do you like that two-post lift? How much did you use it during the project? Was it worth the investment?
I'm looking to purchase one, but just want to see if that is the right thing to do or put the money into the car directly. Any opinions appreciated. |

Andre - which manufacturer did you get your woodgrain insert from? I've used PY and TPP, and neither one impressed me. Yours looks pretty nice.

I think the lift is at the shop he is using.
I have one (different brand) at my shop and they are great! No more floor! Slow comimng down, though. |

This dash woodgrain came from the parts place. It is quite thick, and i think it has the metal backing on it already, or is thick enough that it didn't need it. I can't remember any more.

I went over to the shop to deliver some misc pieces- grill trim, a repo hood latch, and a horn contact switch. The hood is now on the car, as this picture was taken a couple nights ago.
There are some minor issues with the repo front bumper that you really have to be nitpicking to find. There was some faults with the rechromed bumper boyz bumper, but at this late stage in the game, these are not going to cause me to loose any sleep. Did I mention that no one makes the correct perforated headliner, sail panels or visors in gold! As a result, I bought a parchment one. That will be installed, and then dyed to match the interior. That was extra $$ of pain. The back glass problem was solved with a piece of NOS LOF glass. $280 installed. That is somewhat expensive, but I think I will be very happy with it. The repo glass upon further examination was not even cut quite right, and did have many scratches as I mentioned. I am diligently polishing my Hurst wheels, but I will have to go over those at least 2 more times to get them looking the way that I want them to |

Great looking car impressive and well done
If you get a chance and have it can you post the colors used for the dash paint. I have a 65 with the same color interior and cant find the color codes for the dash as its about 3 differnent shades of the gold from light to dark around your dash...... Looks great.... Thanks for posting all these pix they help much for peep's way behind you!!

Andre,
You mentioned using the repo. front bumper and rechromed bumper boyz bumper. Just wondering if you also used the repo headlight bezels. If so, wanted to know if the fit problems have been corrected. Thanks Last edited by 6tee7goat; 02-02-2006 at 03:33 PM. |

I used the repo headlight bezels, and the bodyman made minor tweeks so that both headlight bezels fit quite well.

The interior is now getting wrapped up on the car. If you decide to buy a repo '66 dash, it is indeed a nice piece. However, don't throw yours away without pulling the clips that attach it to the metal portion of the dash or you will be sorry. It does not come with them.
I didn't throw away my dash pad, but it is saveable, so if I remember correctly, there is an old red core in my parents attic that may be able to give up it's clips before it heads off to dumpster land |

Here you can see the carpet is installed and so is the rear glass regulators etc, and everything is buttoned up.
I'm still waiting on my seatbelts, so for now it will be a dangerous ride. |

is that sound deadener fastened to the exterior panel of the door? is that correct? i would think moisture would cause problems installed like that. on my 70 lemans, the PO installed it between the door and the door panel. david |

Yes, it is fastened to the exterior panel of the door. If functions in the same way that the old petroleum based product from the '60's that was used originally.
I'll have to ask about the moisture problems, but I don't think it is an issue. |

The factory used both products. The one you are refering to is simply to protect the door panel itself from moisture getting in past the window seals. Without them the door panels would warp quickly. The material against the door is for vibration/sound deadening but I would think that it is suppose to help prevent condensation too. Andre, That car is looking wonderful!

They are slightly different, but not as much as the picture indicates. All of the interior products that I used were from PUI.
