Default Lucern Blue with Sandlewood Interior

There have been some posts recently about cars with these colors. Since I own one I'm wondering just how many there might be out there. If you have one, used to have one or know of one, please post some onfo. Maybe we can get an unofficial count. Thanks in advance.

Mine's a 1970 trans am, RA III, 4 speed, a/c, am/fm, console and deluxe comfort weave interior. It was built the second week of April in Van Nyes and sold new in Santa Monica CA.

Great idea. You already know about mine, but here are the specs:
1970 RA III, 4 speed, A/C, AM, console, decor, deluxe cloth interior, deluxe belts. Built at VN 04B and sold new in Scottsdale, AZ. Solid, mostly original car that I plan to fully restore (some day....).

cheers,

there's a thread right now on CP that sheds some light on exterior paint colour commonality... I am cetain the gentleman who posted the cars & their colours could be coaxed to devulge interior colours too... you have a suggested colour combo -so it would be most likely be ordered more often as a spec' (dealer ordered) car...

Cool. Do you have more info on this car? Pictures? Owner email ID... sounds like the ultimate '70 T/A

Interesting that, with the exception of one, every sandalwood T/A I've seen or heard about was an A/C car and delivered to the south or southwest. Obviously they liked lighter interior colors in the hot climates (either that or all the ones shipped to the north have rusted out and disappeared...).

Got any pics?

Mine is still in the OR.
Nearing completion though,
possible the end of next week.

I'll post some pics as soon as it's home.

It's my favorite color combo, barely edging out my blue/ivory.

Hey Tellyshavilli,

I heard there was a RA IV car that was blue on sandlewood. Do you have any more info on it? Was it built in Norwood or Van Nyes, what options does it have, stick or auto, and more importantly, did it survive.

Ok, I might be piggy-backing on the original thread, but I was wondering if there is a running count of the number of original RAIV '70 T/A's still in existance... I was speaking with a gent a couple years back who was supposedly in the midst of restoring one (he was in Alberta)...

just curious...

Never heard of the Alberta car , would like to get some more info on it to put it on list of cars in existence(color, tranny, int and original dealer or state). Right now I am over 30 cars ,the only car that originally went to Canada is on list already and is a 4speed white car being restored in US.

Default Sandlewood Interior

I owned a 1970 Formula 400 with this combination. Lucern Blue, Sandlewood deluxe interior. The center console and the carpet were Dark Saddle. I have been told that this combination is how many of them came from the factory. The car had a very unique set of options as followed; Standard 400 (330 HP) , Muncie 4 speed, center cosole, P/W, P/DL, and no A/C. I would assume not too many cars had all these options, and no A/C?

Just bumping this thread along to see if there are any more cars. I know of at least two others, an RA III, a/c, auto car that was in Florida and another RA III auto car that was on Southern California in the 1980's.

70-73 NUT,

Did you get your 71 back yet, can you post some pictures of it?

A few months ago a PY user named Skijem posted on this board that her husband used to own a 70 lucern blue car with deluxe sandlewood interior. She had all the VIN info and said the car was delivered to Gilmore Pontiac Inc in Winterhaven FL in April or May of 1970. Her husband purchased the car used in Ocala Fl in 1985 and sold it to someone who owned a Classic car restoration and sales business in 1991 (she didn't say where in Flroida it was nor did she give the name of the company). She and her husband moved to PA but she later tried to track down the car to try and buy it back. The company it was sold to was out of business and the phone number of the owner was disconnected. She said the Florida title was cancelled in December 1998 so she assumes it was taken out of state and the current wherabouts are unknown. Here is a link to her post:

I started this thread for two reasons, to see how rare this color combo is since I own one and to try and get pictures of what one looks like. My car was repainted white and the interior changed to black before I got it so I don't know what it should look like. I was intending to repaint it blue and change the interior to blue but Keith has convinced me to restore it in the correct original color scheme. It doesn't matter to me if you have a standard bird, esprite, formula or t/a, if you've got pictures I would love to see them.
