Default Strange Smell in Firebird

Hey guys I took my 69 Firebird out today. I dropped the kids off out school and went to work. No smells and running great. I went to lunch, no smell. After eating some BBQ, I got into my car and it had a very strong chemical smell like a combination of plastic and alcohol on the inside of the car. The smell is even in the trunk. I checked to see if I left any chemical bottles in the car and I did not. I do have my console out because I am going to put new carpet in and there are a couple of holes open to the transmission. Any ideas. This smell was so strong I became light headed and had to get out of the car.

Have you done any work on the car? How long was it in storage if at all? Does everything electrical still work?

Hey guys, I found out what it was. My cigar lighter in the car was accidentally pushed in(I don't smoke) and it never popped out. Luckily by the Grace of God, was in I started seeing smoke coming from the lighter. It was so hot that it was starting the melt with plastic around it including the knob. It didn't damage my dash too much. If this would have gone unnoticed my car might have burned to the ground.
