No photos, but in the late 1990s, my uncle purchased a 1976 Trans AM, with 71K actual miles. The owner was an older woman in her late 70s that had bought it new in late 1975. She was in her 50s when she bought it of course. The car was setting in a shed, where it had been since the late 1980s, with only the trunk area exposed. Her husband was the one selling it (he was in charge of the deal). I think he bought it for $1200. It was 100% rust free, still had a like new interior (original). All it needed was a good cleaning, because it was extremely dusty (as expected). The reason she was selling it was because she thought it was too big for her and it was a manual shift car and she was not able to drive it any longer.

I may have already mentioned this here before, but I do not recall, so here goes again.....
No photos again (of it in the barn), but my old 72' Buick Electra was literally a "barn find". I had a want ad posted on the internet for an Electra and got a call from a guy that had one, that was only 12 miles away. When I arrived, he said the car is in the barn. When I went in, the huge barn, I discovered that the car was covered in dust and chicken droppings. The car had been bought new by his father (who was a doctor), that had passed away years before and he decided it was time to sell. It had 103K miles, but it was still like new, after I washed off the dust. He said it had not been started in almost a year. He got in, pumped the accelerator a few times and the 455 roared to life, smoothly. He cranked up the A/C and it was ICE COLD. I was very amazed by this car, that I bought it for the $1500. asking price. I drove it for a year or so and then sold it, because the paint was starting to deteriorate and I had no storage for it. I did not want to see it ruin, so I sold it for $1800. to someone in South Carolina. I now regret selling that car.
Here is a photo of my old Buick, that was taken in 2001. This may be right after I bought it, because our driveway was not even concreted at the time.


rear seat... the front seat/carpeting was as nice.

Front interior was like new, but dirty in this photo. Disgraceful.


While I never saw it in a barn/garage, my Grand Ville (which reminds me much of my old Electra) was supposedly a "garage" find. The owners had perished and the car was in a garage for years.
You can see why the Grand Ville reminds me of the Electra. Basically the same body style and color....

Grandpas old 55' Cadillac was a old barn find too. It belonged to a old woman. It is ALL original, except for the paint and it needed new carpeting.....

So i guess i was a lil punk when i was in my single digit age..
So there was a "blue car" (thats all i cared) across the street from my house that i always through rocks at.
I looked up the vin it was a 69 cutlass holiday coupe, bench seat with the original 350 rocket.. less than 600 ever built.. i walked to the door and bought it for $200 and all the rocks i through when i was little caused no damage Thank god..

small world, i know where there's one similar to this sitting. samecolor blue but with a painted top.

Heard about an old Lemans in Coolidge Arizona so I took a drive down there. It is sitting in a yard with a bunch of other old cars just rotting away. The Lemans is a 65 with a GTO hood, red primer and looks like it has been there for years. I knocked on the door of this OLD trailer that was on the property and asked if it was for sale. The man said it belonged to his nephews friend or something. I asked if I could go over and take a better look at it and he said no.................another car just going to sit and rot away. I got a picture of it on my phone, if I can figure out how to post it I will.

back in the mid 90s while dating my wife, i met her sister who lived in Tennessee. her live in boyfriend was into pontiacs, and she enjoyed showing me her photo album of his cars. they eventually married, but then he passed away (only 32, skin cancer). The estate was a mess thanks to in-laws fighting her claims to it. She said that 2 of the cars would be going through auction, one a "trans Am", the other a Buick GS Convert. neither ran, buick was in pieces undergoing restoration. Trans Am had a "blown" motor and was rusted out and both were advertised as such as required for the auction in the local county newspaper. Had someone bid on the Trans Am for me sight unseen after my wife's sister sent me the vin and block codes, the appraiser wanted the buick and an agreement was made that my party wouldn't bid on it and he wouldn't bid on the trans am. well, the SOB did bid on it, cost me a couple bucks more to win it, but was still a bargain for what it is. The garage door had a couple trees growing in front of it that had to be cut away, he'd had them inside non-running for nearly 10 years.

Found and bought this EXTREMELY RARE 1969 L89 RS/SS Camaro. It took 4 months to buy it but was well worth the wait. I didn't steal it, but it was absolutely worth every penny. They only built 311 L89 (Aluminum Heads) Camaros; only about 28 were known to exist . This will be #29!!!

This is my toy. Dad purchased it from the original owner in 1974 and only drove it on nice days. It was parked in 1992 when the gas tank fell from rust in the trunk floor. It was stored in my parents garage until 1998, when I purchased a 1969 AMX to restore. Unfortunately the GTO was outside with a tarp for a couple of years while I restored my 1969 AMX. Here are pics the day I brought the GTO home Sept. 2005. It sits in my nice dry garage now.
