Edelbrock on Stock intake
Will an Edelbrock performer 4 barrel bolt up in place of my stock 2 barrel? If not do i need a new maifold or is there an adapter available?

no it won't.
you could use an adapter, but that makes the whole thing pointless. get a stock 4V intake or an edlebrock performer, and have at it.

IMO, a four barrel won't make that big of a difference with the same cam and heads.

It makes a definite difference, but more compression and a cam change would certainly add alot more. I did it to mine, which was a 2v originally, but I don't really recommend the Edelbrock carb though. I would go with a Q-Jet if I was to do it over again, which I am. (Needed a rebuild and more cubes anyway) The Edelbrock would be okay if I had $$$ worth of metering rods to tune it with...
If you still want to go with Edelbrock, I do have a Performer intake and 1411 carb for sale. Only had them in the car for a couple years and maybe 2000 miles. Comes with Edelbrock's tuning kit for the carb which has about 4 different sets of jets and metering rods in it, plus a couple extra jets and carb gaskets I bought. |
