Don't have those numbers, maybe someone who does will chime in.

Great combo BTW, and one of my favorites! How about some pics, please?

Dan Jensen keeps a complete set of production numbers for 71-72 A-body HO cars. You could call or email him for your car. He is listed in the GTOAA Legends as Tech guru for 1972 GTO's as well. But, I don't know if color breakdown is part of those numbers?

Nice car too! Is that the same car as original post? White Int?

Gorgeous '72 Royal!

More pics would be MOST welcome, as well some history and the invoice and/or list of options.

Where are you located, BTW?

Many thanks!

I don't know if the number can be broken down any further, but we do know that 325 hardtop GTO's were produced in 1972 with the HO engine and auto trans.

While we're on the topic of Sundance Orange 72s, has anyone seen this WW5 car?

I got these production numbers from Dan Jensen via email.

There were a total of 747 HO A-bodies built in 1972. 645 were GTOs (10 coupes – 3 M22s, 7 M40s; 635 hardtops – 310 M22s, 325 M40s), 21 were LeMans GTs (14 hardtops – 10 M22s, 4 M40s; 7 convertibles – 2 M22s, 5 M40s), and 81 were regular LeMans’ (9 coupes – 5 M22s, 4 M40s; 26 convertibles – no breakdown; 26 hardtops – no breakdown).

I don't know if those breakdowns help. But, he does have some good real time numbers on 455 HO A bodies for 71-72.

Default From Dan Jensen 71-72 HO registry

WW5 breakdown : 3 coupes and 287 hardtops, for a total of 290 WW5 cars out of the 645 GTO HO's. No transmission breakdown, but can assume similar 50/50 breakdowns. I hope those numbers help.
