Are tghe core supports the same for a 70 lemans and a 70GTO? Thanks

James,
They are different. The top part on the LeMans core has a lip that bolts to the header panel & the GTO core is flat. |

hey I just got done a 1970 lemans sport that had bad rot around the battery.The lower section of the core support is the same as a GTO so if your problem is there you could always buy a gto core and cut off what you need.Sometimes you gotta do things that you wouldn't ever thinlk you would do.

Since the new (and VERY nice) reproduction core supports came out, there no longer is any reason to perform the surgical graft that you did, Matt.

A clarification- James is working on a 1970 GTO... I think Matt thought it was a LeMans that was being repaired.

Yes its a 70 GTO. ANd I figured out what happened. I was looking at my digitals from the body shop after the car was painted and the nose and fenders line up awesome. Then I had it towed home!! I believe the guy hooked onto the bottom of th ecore support some how and that is what made the already unknown weak core support pull away from the bushing and tear. Thanks for all of your help so far. I am looking forward to this repair!
