Talking Sure is amazing what a can of $3.99 Chrome Hobby Paint Can Do for a Pontiac!!!

Well...I was looking at the frame of my car today...

...I have a powdercoated frame...all of the neat suspension goodies...etc..etc...al bolted on and ready to rock and roll..

Only problem was, something was REALLY lacking as far as "wow" factor goes. It looked nice, but something about it just looked unfinished.

So, shrugging it off I walk into the house, up to my room...and go read a book. A Little while later I glanced over to a box of stuff I keep for hobby crafts if I ever need them. There were several cans of paint...and I remembered I had a little can of hobby paint called "chrome".

Well, me using the higher thinking part of my brain struck and idea:

Unpainted tie rods, suspension components+ $3.99 can of chrome model paint=FLIPPIN' AWESOME!!!!

Well, so today I masked off the areas I wanted to paint, such as the power steering box...the tie rods, adjuster arms...disc brake spindles...and some other little knicknacks I thought just weren't up to par with the car I'm shooting for on my 67 GTO..

Well...a few hours later I got done, around about 6:30...and I have to laugh...

It looks like I have about a thousand dollars in chrome plating work done, yet the idea sprung from a little 3.99 can of paint!!!

Funny what you can think of when you have idle time...

My only real concern is the durability of how it will hold. I didn't put it on any high temp areas...just like I said the suspension and steering parts that were either an ugly cast steel or dull looking.

I'll post some pics once I get my camera charged (it's dead right now) but I find it quite hilarious as to the end result and how much money I'm out of!!!

Bryan
