Larry,

We saw that Houston-based Brewster Green SD T/A that you are talking about, here at the Omaha Auto Show back in the mid-90's. It was really a sharp looking Super Duty car. It was also featured in the April '87 issue of HPP along with his Red '73 SD Trans Am. I'm suprised to hear that he sold the cars because he was such a big-time Super Duty enthusiast. I guess things can change over a period of time.

Jim

Default these are the cars I dream of when I am sleeping

I want a 70 to 73 so bad I can already see myself driving it. I paint teh rally 2's everyday, hoping that one day I will be able to buy one of these to restore myself. I just want to thank all of you guys for posting these, Id there are any sweet sd cars, let me see em. I just ran out of colored ink, taping about 25 of your cars on my work wall, to keep my motivation and drive up, thanks guys, your cars are what my dreams are made of, john

I know a guy in San Antonio that had (and may still have) a brewster green SD455. Name was George Hanks, he's been around a long time. Real good fella. Don't know if he still has it. I only got to see it once. We both used to be in a Firebird club there in SA called the Texas Trans Ams and he was in the POCI club there in SA too.

Larry- Sorry for the delay, was playing with the scan, trying to read the tags! Anyway, it is a brewster, though the scan looks dark, guess the pic itself is getting old. Like I mentioned before, this was the T/A Nats in like '91 or '92.. Dayton, of course...

Jim- Interesting you mentioned a red '74, happens to be one parked next to it...

I knew George. He was one of the first enthusiasts I met after getting my '66 GTO while in high school. This was around 1980. At the time he had a '69 Judge that he was playing with and a mint, red '73 SD455 T/A.

He was a super cool guy and my friend and I used to visit him regularly until he moved. Haven't seen him since then.

I used to be a member of the SA POCI back in the '80s, but haven't been in it for a long time.

I just found out that a guy in my area has a '74 SD, so that makes two in my neck of the woods.

On another note.....
Back in the early '90's I was conversing with a fellow that owned a '74 4speed SD, red with red/white interior. He lived in Indiana and was racing in the NMCA series back when it was REAL musclecars, and did very well in his class.
He had painted the inside of the honeycomb wheels red, to match the car.
Anyone remember him or that car?

Attached is a 78 Resto-Mod that I did five years ago. Also some action shots of the 71 drag car.

Larry:

R Winkles owns that car now. If you go to the 74-76 forum, you can see it in the "Post your pictures" topic on the second to last page.

He still has the wheels but they are not on the car any longer.

Thanks Bob.
I wouldn't have recognized the car without those colored wheels.

Actually started in November will be on the road in late april. I ordered new rims and tires. I also have a horn issue to work out before inspection. We swapped out the 2 barrell for a 4 and also had it bored 30 over so it ends up more a 355. Nothing major, but little compression and placed a different cam in. My father-in-law and I have been working 3-4 days a week since before thanksgiving.

Horn issue? The relay? Anyway, sounds like you guys went at it right, not overboard, and kept it fun! It looks great, and you did it right!

Pics, sure, though I've posted before I believe, you could search it...

I wonder what that one will bring. Did you notice the dash & console color? And compare it to the column & dash peice below the column. For that matter, the carpet color!
