Yes I very much got that impression of Dave last fall too. He was quick to reply to my emails while copying my decals and I guess I just felt let down or disappointed that it seemed that I was being ignored now. I hope I didn't come across like I was bashing Dave as that really wasn't my intent.

I haven't had a chance to phone him yet but I'll get to that later in the week.

Thanks again for everyone's input.

I know it's been awhile since anyone posted anything on this thread, but as I am looking for repop decals for my 70 RA III Formula 400, I thought I would see if there was any new information available.

For what it is worth, a number of decals are currently available on eBay, and while generally they look pretty good to me and the prices seem reasonable, I am hardly an expert on the subject.

The one decal I am most interested is the engine emission one. One seller has two listed ("PC" and "PB" - see the links below), but to me neither looks right for a RA III.

Any comments?

Kind of hard to tell. Those photos (at least the one for PC decal) the guy is using are really crummy. I think I can see a couple of improvements over the repops Ames sells but I'd like a clearer photo first before I could be certain.

RWS, my '70 RAIII Formula has its original decal, and it's a "PC". Agree the quality of the photo in the ad for the PC could be better. In general, it looks pretty close to mine except it has rounded corners. The corners on my original are square....

Thanks Keith.

I could have sworn that the decal on my car was different. Given that my car was built for and delivered to a dealer in Canada, perhaps it was, but little chance of finding a repop for that.

Hey guys.
Just wanted to chime in on this. The auctions on Ebay are mine. I agree the photos could be better, but the finish on the decal reflects off the scanner when I do this. If anyone can help on that, it would be appreciated. I've tried taking pictures with my camera, but they turn out worse (8.0 megapixel). If you order one from me, and it doesn't look right, just send it back and I'll refund you.
Thanks,
Jason Love

Jason,
Do you actually make them, or just distribute? Can you cut them so the corners are square like original?

This is an interesting and informative thread. I am starting to restore my 71 TA 4-speed and took a look at my emission sticker. It is in decent shape and I was able to successfully remove it. I talked to Dave at ECS and am sending it in to be reproduced. So, these should be available in the near future.

Default 1971 455HO manual trans Emissions Decal!

Just received the repro ECS Automotive made from my 1971 TA 4-speed decal. I think it looks dead on. So, anyone needing one, he now has them available - "PM" code (1971 455HO manual tranny).

68bird400HO, Two questions...

1) is that a coolant label directly above the emissions tune-up label? (I have seen them on the right side and on the fan shroud, but not on the LH side above the emission decal like that yet!)

2) Does ECS make a '71 455HO Automatic decal?

Pat's car has the emissions tune-up label AND the coolant label on the RH(passenger) side of the hood latch. Van Nuys factory oddities strike again!

Giles,

1) Yes, I believe it was the Engine coolant decal. ECS has reproductions of these.

2) ECS does not have a '71 automatic decal yet. If someone can provide Dave (@ ECS) an original, or a really detailed picture of one, I believe he could reproduce it pretty easily.
