For my daily drivers I have been using the NXT Generation High Tech wax by Meguiars. It looks like it is marketed for the ricer crowd but after reading about it I thought I would give it a try. Goes on and off very quickly and easily with minimal effort. Quickly puts a great shine on just as advertised. The best thing I found is that, out of all the waxes I've tried, this keeps the water beading for many months on my cars that sit outside all the time.
Don't think I am going to try it on my Pontiac though. For one, I don't know about the status of it having a clear coat or not. The other, it is a polymer like Nu-Finish which I've heard can be a dog trying to get off. I've always used the Meguiar's products and carnuba wax, but it doesn't see weather either so I don't know about longevity. After reading this thread though I am very interested in trying the Zaino products. Unfortunately my car has some panels that have small bumps in the paint in certain areas. I've been told that these were caused by air in the paint gun when it was shot. Anyway was concerned about Tripower's comments about highlighting imperfections so am cautious about trying it. |

Zanio...Worth the effort but follow their reccomended procedure including towel preference (brand), is does make a difference. An excellent product line up. Tim

ZAINO....best products I've ever used. I got the kit, includes everything but the 100% cotton towel, and the dawn soap

Has any one used Blackfire products. I talked to a guy on the IS300 forums who used it on his black car and the pictures were absolutely amazing.

For those that use Zaino, what towels are we supposed to be buying? I don't trust any of them as they seem to have other material on the sewing...

fleece material is really soft? Does it absorb the polish good enough?

To the guys who use Zaino. Did you start off buy buying the Zaino Total Protection Show Car Kit?
Is that all I need to order? There is some lite spider web marks on my hood. Will this take care of it? I also have a pin-stripe on the side of my car. Will this polish harm it? fb66 |

I bought the Ultimate kit. That is the one I would recommend. I also bought the Z-8 Grand finale spray and the Z-12 Clear glass polish, that should keep you busy for awhile.
I know its seems like a lot of money to dump down on car cleaning and polishing supplies, not including quality cotton towels, but once you use it and see the results you can get, albeit after some arm breaking work, you will never go back to waxing again! I used the Z-12 clear glass polish on the door glass on my 76 T/A and the results were unbelievable! It got off all the stains, water spots and crap that no other cleaner would touch. On top of that, it even polished out a lot of the scratches that I just thought I would have to live with. It only took out the fine to medium stratches, like they claim, but it obviously did not take out some of the real bad areas like where the window felts had failed. As far as using the polish over graphics, decals and pinstriping, I was concerned about that myself so I emailed them about it. I got a response from the owner of the company in about 20 minutes telling me that not only is it safe for decals, etc. but the polish would make it look like you clear coated over the decals. I have not installed by decals on my car yet, so I can't speak from experience just yet, but when I do, you all will be the first to know. John

My T/A is actually silver. It is House of Kolor Silver White Pearl. White base coat,Silver pearl coat and then cleared. I had the paint buffed out by a detail shop early last fall. Before that, it had just been painted, wet sanded and buffed. The buff job was not to my liking so I had it done again, and the guy did an awesome job!
I got the Zaino system in October and did the clay bar. It was not really nessesary, as the buff job got the finish as smooth as glass, but I did it anyway. I then started to get a good base with the Z-2 polish and the ZFX additive. The additive helps the Z-2 dry MUCH faster than without it, so you can buff it off sooner. I got two coats done in a weekend. I also did the glass as I mentioned before. That was as far as I got due to the weather going south on me up here in New England. It is not recommended to apply the system at temps below 60˚F. It is possible, but the drying times are greatly increased. I just figured I would wait until spring to continue. The more you use the system, the deeper and more glossy the shine on the finish becomes, until it looks like a mirror. Then it is much simpler matter of maintaining it, or so I have been told. Glad I could be of help. Feel free to ask me anything you like. I will be gaining a lot more experience with these products over the spring and summer and I will be more than happy to share the results with all of you. Their website is full of great instructions and tips for applying the products. Read everything you can find on their site before using the system, and you will feel much more confident about using it. John

It is amazing how easy the stuff is to use after a few coats. My GTO was a little dusty, as I've been driving the hell out of it. After a quick dustoff, I used the Z6 on it, and in 15 minutes total, had a show car shine. The stuff is amazing...... I am sold!
I never tried the glass cleaner. I should have ordered some on my last order! |

If you have clear coat, Zaino is the best... Period!
Spend the time and put many coats on. The more the better. It wont fix problems, but if you have a straight car with good paint this stuff will blow your mind. |

Do I have clear coat?
How can you tell if you have a clear coat on the car or not? Car was painted red many moons ago by previous owners. I know when I use Meguiar's polish and swirl remover my applicator will turn red from the paint. Would I be correct in assuming I don't have a clear coat then or is there a more definite way to tell? Thanks.
