My new (to me) '65 GTO appears to be riding low. Could it be the body mounts? If so, what is involved with replacing them?

you can't tell by looking at the car height if the body mounts are bad. you need to measure the distances as shown in the 65 factory service manual for the height, then look at springs, tires, shocks, front and rear suspension as well as the body mounts. Buy the manual on paper or CD for this and other information you will need for your vintage car.

Thanks. I bought the service manual off of ebay. I am assuming that info is in there.

I can't imagine worn body mounts could affect your ride height enough for the naked eye to notice. I'd suggest starting with shocks and springs.

While your at it, inspect the upper spring perches in the rear. Make sure they're not rusted and broken away.

all these bodies sink in rear spring area...best/cheapest solution is to add rear coil spring type shocks...raises the rear without making it ride hard...the way to go..sm

Most cars that are over 40 years old need new springs.
It's time to replace them.
