Default Underhood detailing questions & input 67 GTO

After long debate I finally pulled fenders and engine out of my 67 to detail the engine itself and under the hood. Frame, firewall, suspension, inner fenders. Here is my problem -- I understand the that underhood most eveything is some degree of black and to be "original" it would need to stay that way. But I've always liked the look of those compents being the same as the body color - is it just tacky on a goat or does it look good? The car is for the most part an original numbers matching ac car with the only real mods are after market alum wheels and pypes x exhaust. I'd like to hear some opinions and pics if anyone has them. I've never really seen a gto painted under hood same as body - the care is reef turqouise too bad it's not black...
