68 firebird convertable value
Found a 68 bird conv. for-sale. All original (1 repaint) 350 2barrel, auto with console, drum brake, perfect cond.original interior, can be best described as a #3 driver car ( very nice , no rust or bubbles showing, paint shines but has some checking or crazing)chrome is nice also. 63,000 original miles and it shows with how all factory pieces underhood (brackets, clamps etc.)are still in place.Motor sounds good but have not drove yet. Just wondering the always asked ? whats it worth. Going to drive tomorrow and take a closer look at. The lady who has it would like to get $12,500. Does that seem in line. Thanks for any responce

I'd say it depends on what you want the car to be. I purchased mine in good condition, higher milage but it's a solid southern car that had been repainted and bumpers rechromed in '89. 5 yrs ago I paid $5K, it needed a top, seat covers, carpet and a heater core to be right. I upgraded to a 400,Th350, 3.55's etc.. By the time it's said and done I probably would been better off with a car that was originally a 400, provided I could find one that wasn't rusty. The 350 2bbl with granny gears was a slug, but body work is expensive so I went for it.
