Getting back to the barn fresh subject, I've been in contact with the owner of a '69 Judge that's currently sitting in a barn. The price is right, and I hope to close the deal on this one. Will post some pics if and when I pull it out of the barn to put it on my trailer...

Well, a buddy did link me up with my gold '69 Judge and '73 T/A 455, but the other 6 or 7 cars I bought this year were the result of finding and running down leads. After some trial and error, I've found a few ways to drum up a lot of leads with little or no expenditures, and my current job isn't too strenuous, so I've had the time to devote to buying cars and parts. Anyway, I'm enjoying it and buying cars while I can b/c my next job is going to be pretty intense.

yeah the body looks fairly straight though it will need new rear quarters and a new trunk i hate to see the inside where the water has gotten into the rust holes
i think the car may be worth 2 grand tops but the one guy i know who talked to the owner said it wasn't for sale. supposedly theres a 68-69 GTO sitting in another local city in some yard with grass growing through it and it belonged to a lady's husband and he died so she is just letting it sit Last edited by CodeRed; 05-06-2006 at 08:16 PM. |

from the look of how serious that rust is, i wouldn't pay 1k for that lemans
unless it had a posi or bucket seat interior or something redeeming

True, and since it looks like it hasnt been played with, it maty be a complete car. The only problem is that the body is so rusted, the floors and are problibly trashed as well. It looks like a $500 car to me. Restored it may be only worth $15K.
And why does it sag so much in the rear? Busted springs? Or has rust eaten through the floor so much that the springs went right through? |

All I have is a depressing story.. picked up a 70 RAIII firebird for $400, took the motor, trans and rear out and junked the rest, this was about 5 years ago, at a time when I was tossing 455s to the scrapyard cause they were getting in my way. This was a complete car, 160mph speedo, 4sp, 12bolt, all the good stuff.

Saw this thread and wanted to share mine too. This is my '67 GTO the day I pushed it out of the barn. The dates on the pictures are wrong. The last time it was ran was '88. Sat in that barn ever since. This picture was after we washed all the crap off of it. Didn't have the thought to take a picture first. I am only 4th owner. Numbers matching 4 speed. Only surface rust and very little after market changes. (At least the tach add on did not mess up the dash!) 58 k original as far as I can tell. Very low option car but it is the right colors.

I bought it from a friend of a friend. Big Pontiac guy. I was picking his brain for info on GTO's and he mentioned that he had this one he wanted to sell. Included a 10 bolt saft-t-trac and some other parts he had. With numbers matching and no rust through I feel I got a good deal at $8,500. Plus he delivered it to my house.

1972 HO TA found in a Field
Aquired this one back in 99. unfortuatly I hav enot had the time or funds to resurect it. seats and dash are in great shape. floor is not bad. parked since 82. 84k. got it from the original owner.

Found And Trying To Buy This Firebird.....
I don't know about you guys, but this thread would never get old for me.....
Found this Firbird sitting behind a house that's currently for sale... It's kind of in an odd area; doesn't appear to be the same property line. Anyway, when I took these pics, I left a note under the wiper. Went past there again about a week later and decided to call the realtor selling the house. She told me the car belonged to the guy next door... Well, today I stopped by and left a note....Everybody keep their fingers crossed....she needs a new lease on life .
