Default 4.3L in an 83' GP?

I have a 4.3L engine froma 1996 Astrovan. My buddy wants to put it in his 1983 Grand Prix(don't ask me why). My question is, does anyone know if the 4.3L will even fit in the '83 and if so, how much modification is required, if any?

Thank you in advance for all of your help.

Asfar as modifications I'm not sure, make sure that you get the under hood wiring harness and the fuse box and computor from the Astro Van.

They used the 4.3l in late 86 and 87 models.

Cool Just make sure...

that the heads have all the necessary accessory mounting holes. I have two of these engines that would not fit the applications I purchased them for because of this "minor" oversight. Good luck. Ron
