Question Anyone ever have their trunk key just quit working?

Went to open the trunk and the key goes in but won't turn the lock. Weird? Guess I'm going have the kid crawl through the back seat and open. Any other ideas besides a $100 lock smith visit?

try getting the key copied. the new one will have sharper edges then the old one, maybe just enough to get the tumblers up enough to rotate it. It's worked for me on an ignition key once. Good Luck, Dennis

If it turns maybe the link fell off.

If it doesn't turn, squirt a little WD40 into the key slot and see it that frees it up. Years of moisture will cause locks to freeze up and WD40, rust buster, etc can fix the problem.
