Been a longtime lurker, but you can expect more posts from me now.
I just sealed the deal on a '69 Executive 2 door. I'll try to post some pics below.
Now I just have to wait until I can pick it up.
It's a pretty sweet ride. It was ordered from the factory with a the 428/360 HP motor, posi, AC and some other neat stuff.
I like reading other car stories on here, so I'll go ahead with this one.
Ironcially, the car was ordered new in 1969 in North Dakoa by a fella I met on the job a few times back in 2000. His name was Ed Schafer and he was governor of North Dakota when I (briefy) worked in that state covering politics. (That limited connection had nothing to do with how I found or bought the car)
Since I sealed the deal on it, I looked up Ed and asked him if he remembered the Executive (which records show he sold in the early 70s)
Well, turns out he's a big Pontiac guy. He still has his '63 421 4 spd Catalina that was his first new car. And he remembered the Executive well.
When he bought it, he was just graduating from college and figured he needed something more family oriented. He bought the Executive, as he recalls, because it was a little bigger than the Catalina.
But he couldn't resist ordering the 428 because, well, he is a car guy. He also ordered it with dual exhausts, the optional gauge package, posi, along with AC, power bench seat and some other stuff.
The car went though a few owners (including one who left it garaged and unregistered for many years), before ending up in the hands of the very cool Pontiac dude who has sold it to me. Along the way it has only picked up 88K miles.
Now I understand Executives are not the most sought after cars, which suits me fine because the price on these things is very reasonable all thing concerned.
Back in high school in the 80s I drove a 67 Tempest.
For the past cupla years I've been looking for a Pontiac. And after looking at what kind of A-Body my money would buy (one in not very good shape), I've turned to full sizes. And the 69-70s struck me as cars where you can get a big poncho motor in a car in good shape for reasonable dough.
That's how I came to find this Executive over in Minot, North Dakota.
I'm excited about the ride. The interior is nearly flawless and won't need much, if any, work. The paint is original and needs a repaint. Only a small amount of rust work.
My plans for it are fairly simple. Paint it. Probably put some Rally IIs on it. Tinker with it. Drive it, and otherwise enjoy the 428 Pontiac.

And anyone that has any info on Executives, let me know (such as productions numbers). I frankly don't know much about them. I've even heard conflicting opinions as to whether the Exec is the same size as the Catalina or the Bonneville.

Cool car! It's pretty uncommon to see an Executive of any kind, but one with a 428 is real unusual. It figures since Ed Schafer was the original owner. He's pretty well known in the Pontiac world.

Wow, is that puppy clean or what! Great lines on the '69 and that interior looks like new. Many congrats and welcome to the club.

I know somewhere you can get that nose piece fixed for little money if you are interested get ahold of me and I will give you the info Great car looks just like the 2 1969 Bonneville Broughams that I have interior is different in regards to the leather lucky find have fun they are a blast to drive.
