Cam gear alignment help needed
well, in Jim Hands book i've noticed he aligned the crank and cam gears dots both in the 12oclock position. i believe i have aligned the dots with the cam gear dot on the 6oclock and the crank gear at the 12oclock positions. now this seems simple enough, but i am a little confused. any guidance will be appreciated. thanks.

the crank spins twice for every single revolution of the cam, so you are fine, spin the crank around one revolution, and you'll have both dots at 12:00.

12 and 12 is the actual TDC for #1 cylinder--necessary when rough-aligning your distributor to point to #1 for initial setup of the distributor. 6 and 12 just makes it easier to align the gears and chain during installation.

thanks guys, i got worried for nothing. if i would have just slowed down a bit i would have realized i was okay. i just panic sometimes after i've got an engine together. again, thanks.
