Love this forum
It’s great I’ve just bought a new Detroit Trutrac and 3, 42 gear’s for my 78 FBird.. It has non lock differential and 2.41 gears now. Anybody tried this set up? Can anybody tell me what theoretically this car will run on the strip? Thanks Mats

I have a trutrac with 3.73 gears in my 67 Bird and it works great. I have not been to the track but it does get up and running much faster then it ever did with the open rearend.

My buddy has one in his 11 sec Chevelle and it works great both on the street and at the track.

I have not used one in a car but did in a built 4x4, was very reliable and withstood 500ish hp and 33" tires. Would buy one again.

I've got one in my 69 LeMans. Basic 400, pretty similar to yours really. .030 over, XE274, RPM intake, had stock #48s on it, 3.90s, drag radials, 3200 stall, went 13.30s @ 100, with a 1.84 60 ft. Now I have KRE D ports on here, so we'll see what they do for it.
