I am thinking about running in a 10 index class at our local track.
I would like to do it without the bottle in a 2800 to 3000# car. Who is running at or near 10 flat and what is your combo?

In a good chassis at 2800lbs, my 625hp 505 combo and a hyd roller will run that number.

Check all the classes you might want to run. Some require stock Dash, windshield, frame rails, True 10.5 tire ECT.
I back halfed my car and can't run some classes that i would like to. My car ended up @ 3440 race wieght and has a 642 hp 462 and runs 10.60-70's in the Desert air. (Desert air) 3000' elevation but acts like 6000'. It should run a 10 flat or better with excellent track conditions. A 600 - 650 hp engine combo shouldn't be hard to come up with. Lots of ways to get there. You can get more info on my combo search (titles)(Race section )( What a rush) JK

Shouldn't be too hard to do. Light car, and above mentioned HP figures should get ya there. Your just gonna have to hope the car works...IE suspension, etc.

Slide rule says you will need around 600hp to run a 10.0 with a 3000lb car.

I think Shotgun already has some good parts to work with!
![]() You'll just need to select gear/cam/converter, and you should be there.

The things I spent money on twice, Tires, reargears, tq converter, and fuel pump.
The tires and the gears might have been avoided, but buy a good Tq the first time. The ones that will work on a 600 hp (Brand X engine) my motor powered right through. and get a size bigger fuel pump than you think you need. good luck JK

Eagle rods, Ross pistons, 12 flat compression, Victor intake with 1150 carb. mechanical roller at .700 lift (1.65 arms) and duration around .265 at .050..... 12 bolt rear with 4.33 gear, Ati 4500-4800 stall, 8". Powerglide built by owner.. motor is also built by owner. 30x10.5 tires and "stock" Dick miller suspension components. Last edited by RUDOLFSSON; 07-27-2006 at 09:14 PM. |
