Jerry, the price looks right to me. If at least it could be a strong point to start some discussions. I have a local friend looking for a good starting point on an early year firebird/formula. I will show him your post.

It might have something to do with location. I had a solid 80 T/A shell that I thought would be a steal to let go at $200. I know that if I was back in MI and not AZ I would've had numerous inquiries for a donor car. But since there wasn't a demand out here locally, I got no bites. Very few people will hassle with the expense of shipping a car unless it's a high dollar rarity (SD, RAIV T/A, etc.)
I just think it's the local market that drives the sale. It's nothing personal against your car.

I'd recommend ebay - make sure the ad is well done with good pictures. I've sold several collector cars personally on ebay, and done custom listings for other people and had great success - only 1 problem with a flaky bidder. Every car has sold in 7 days or less, for the price the seller wanted (or more) - had to relist one due to the flaky bidder. You hit a huge market, and its surprising how far people will drive or tow a collector car. Worst case is your reserve isn't met and you're out the ebay fees (about $100).
Good Luck |
