They show up from time to time at swap meets or on eBay. I think they actually reprint the parts book that covers your car these days.

I was lucky enough to find a parts book for my '61 at a swap some years ago; in some ways it's even handier than the shop manuals - besides having all the parts numbers handy, there are a lot of exploded diagrams that are a real help when taking things apart and putting them back together.

Stuart, is that the GM parts book you picked up? I'd like to get a 63 parts book for my car- just ordered the hollander interchange manual which i understand is nice to have.

There is a guy that sells them in photocopied form on E-Bay from time to time. I bought one for around $100, but you could not have made all the copies for that, probably even if you owned a good copier. I have it in 2 binders that are about 18" thick double sided! Mine does Pontiac from the late 50's through about '67. Body & Chasis. As Stuart says, the exploded views are great. Very helpful at times.

The book I have is the "1961 Pontiac Supplement to the Pontiac Master Parts and Accessories Catalog", effective October 1, 1960. It's only an inch or so thick and covers only the 1961 Pontiacs (full size and Tempests.)

One thing that's kind of neat is in the front there are two sections: Accessory Packages and Special Engine and Chassis Parts. All the cool options, SD parts and heavy duty parts are listed in there - stuff like heavy duty steering knuckles and SD four cylinder blocks for Tempests, or big car 6.14 posi rear ends.

Just got my book today and I am more than pleased with the info and illustrations inside this manual! Indeed a good $25 score for me!!
