Broke the right rear body mount nut loose. Trunk bottom has almost no rust, but only left rear came loose okay. Mounts behind both wheels are rusted out and got bolts out. Right rear is up inside channel, and assume I'll have to cut access to nut for removal of bolt. Am told trunk floor pans do not have rear body mounts, so would it be best to cut access hole to nut from underneath back, or just cut hole in top of trunk floor to access nut? Full frame off, so replacing full trunk is not objectionable. Just will be hard to get on rotary with no body mounts on back. Any advise would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance. 80% of car is rust free.

I don't know if this helps as I have a 1970, but here's what I encountered. One of my rearmost body bolt nuts spun while I was replacing the bushings. There is a raised "dimple" in the flat sheet metal of the trunk floor just behind the rear wheel well housing. It is probably about 1" or so in diameter. The nut is just below that dimple. I used a small pneumatic cutting tool and cut three sides of a square so that it left a flap of sheet metal. I just pried that up, replaced the bolt and bent it down afterwards. Not sure if your car has the same set up, but it worked great with mine.

Thanks for the rapid assistance. I think the 66 has two mounts further back, but not sure. Helped my number 1 son with his 72 GTO, but not enough rust to get into the motor mounts. The back two on the 66 are inside a channel that runs across the back of the trunk floor, and I think I'll have to replace the nut and clip when I finally get the old nut out. However, I like your idea of using a nibbler or something similar to cut through the top, and peeling it back. I don't see a raised part, but I can guess pretty close and I'm sure the welding will be easier. I felt like it would be easier to hide if I cut in underneath, but would be a real pain laying on the floor welding it back shut. Next question will be about the rotory. Looks like Rotor 2000 will no way bolt to back mounts on the 66. Thanks again for your response. Helps alot.

Seems like it's one thing after another. Do you know if a nibbler will cut the trunk floors and floor pans? I have spun 4 more body mount nuts and now only 7 out of 14 are reusable. Looks like the top of the floors will have to be cut to get to the nuts, and don't have a plasma cutter. Really not comfortable with using torch. Car is up on stands with rear end, control arms, etc. off. No need to point out poor planning. Again floors and almost all of the trunk has NO rust, and I really had no idea that the mounts would be so bad. Also having trouble locating new nuts, if I do get the old ones out. Thanks for your help.
