Cal-tracs VS Slide-a-links?
Who has run both/either and what do you think? Which is better?

I've heard of the slide a links bending in higher hp app's. Haven't seen it but I've heard it. Haven't heard that issue with Caltrac's and have had good luck with them. Both my brother 70 Camaro and my 74 Firebird 60ft in the 1.3's with 28x10.5" slicks, Caltrac's and 3600lb or more. They're a good piece, durable, and the folks who sell/make them are racers and helpful.

Slide-a-link = slide-a-junk. I've seen 'em bend under SBC power in a '66 Nova. Cal-Trac's all the way.

I only know one guy that has the Slide-A-Links.......hes happy with them but his car isnt real fast and doesnt launch real hard.
I think I would spend a little more and buy the Cal-Tracs.

Cal Tracs.
Sorta like comparing the IA 2 block to the MR-1 block.
Both will work but................................. LOL. |

There is a guy here who ran slide a links then swapped to Cal Tracs. He made .12 better 60' by the time he was done adjusting the Cal Tracs. He never stated with his 9.8 sec corvette there was anything weak about the slide a link. But he felt that the adjustability of the Cal Trac is better since you have 2 forward and 2 rear mounting points which allows better tuning than the one attachment point only of the slide a link. Otherwise they are the same type thing.

Nice pictures, but...
My 4-speed SS/H AMX has Cal-Tracs (bars & springs) on 9x29.5 M/T's. The racers standing behind the burnout box often tell me they see the front hood trim when I leave. Buy Cal-Tracs if you don't want to compromise!

Not one of my huge wheelstands because just like the fish that got away, there hasn't been a camera around! I expect some shots will soon be available as I described from the A/C Delco Nat's as I made several outrageous launches in front of numerous camera men.

My cal-tracs are incredibly solid. You can see them working on a mild (400hp?) 455 setup here. I gained a solid .1 the 60'.
