I don't know it all, but this is what I do know:
The car was poorly presented in this "auction" The seller refused to provide important information. The seller's answers to questions were rude, short and condescending. The bidders ID's were hidden, we know nothing about who bid or who bid how many times. I know Joe personally, he is everything I said he is. My objective conclusion, based on what I do know, is that this car did not sell for $400,000. I believe it to be a carefully planned deception. If 1966sprint got paid $400 to look at this car, good for him. Did he see cash and title change hands? Does he know the buyer? I don't think his assumption that it was a legitimate sale has any more basis in fact than my conclusion that it is nothing more than contrived ebay nonsense. I invite anyone who knows this to be a legitimate sale to present verifiable evidence. When that happens I will be the first to admit I was wrong. Not sure about the deal on the black 69, but there were 5 RA IV Judge convertibles built in 1969, all of them were 4spds, 1 of them was black and the other 4 were Carousel Red - all 5 have been located. Milt Robson's the proud owner of the black one and it's already been restored.  Sprint, I hope you have an errors & omissions liability policy, because there is no way that for $400.00 I would say that any body's car is what they say it is, especially Joe's.

Well, it looks like we are split on this beautifully optioned Black/Black Judge.

I talked to a guy back east that sold a 1969 green judge ram air iv convertible for 20k 7 years ago - not sure on what color green . Maybe he was full of BS .

"It is real" does not refer to the car. I have no doubt the car exists and is "real." I do not question that 1966sprint looked at the car and accurately described its condition.
What is not real, and what I believe to be fake, bogus, staged, contrived, etc. is the ebay auction sale price of $400,000. There may be some who want to believe it actually sold for that amount, and they may have understandable reasons for wanting to believe it. But plain old common sense and reasoning says it just didn't happen. The rumor that Joe of the parts place is involved further removes any credibliity from the "sale." I have taken a firm position on this, but I HAVE NOT and DO NOT mean to offend anyone here with my comments. If I have offended anyone here I sincerely apologize. (Joe excluded) You may wonder why do I care, or what does it matter to me if there is a bogus auction on ebay? It doesn't have much meaning to me, I just don't like to see BS go unchallenged. There is however a real consequence to anyone looking to buy a similar car. If a seller has a car priced high and justifies his price by saying "I saw one sell on ebay for $400,000" then your only choice may be to pass or pay more than it is worth. I have given this too much attention. I agree with gregsgtos, I should let it go. |

The black Judge auction ended. Then it disappeared off the face of the earth! It was at http://motors.search.ebay.com/?from=...52758716&fvi=1
That is weird how a completed auction could disappear without a trace. Let's investigate. Here's what I found... * The auction ended Friday, December 1st, 2006 at 12:05:54 PST. I remember seeing it posted as completed. Then it went "away". * That auction link now goes "nowhere" * The seller was juniorsamples123. I know that because I sent him a message about the car and have that record of it. * He has been an ebay member since Mar-15-05 with 90.3% positive feedback. * His user history does not show that auction as completed OR current. It's just plain "gone"!!! * If I click the link for the auction in ebay's "My Messages" section I get this message: "This listing (330052758716) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number. If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it canceled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay." * If I try to click on his user ID to ask him a question, I get this goofy message: "The form is not available at this time. You are attempting to communicate about an invalid item." * Nobody gets their auction "erased" from ebay and still retains their user ID without a suspension, right? * The thumbnail image of his car is still available on ebay at http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/pict/33...87168080_0.jpg Tonight I sent him a message about one of his other past auctions that was still a valid auction number. Here's what I asked him... "What happened to your black Judge on ebay? Me and my GTO-loving friends were checking back in to see what the selling price was. It does not show up on your "current" or "past" auctions. That's weird, huh? Is the car sold? Tonight, he replied, not fully answering my question... "CAR WAS SOLD THANKS FOR LOOKING, MAYBE NEXT CAR!" So that's what I know. Who can provide the name of the buyer? Or who knows why the auction is "gone" from ebay? He stated that the car DID sell. So is ebay aware of that fact? |

Guys, remember that ebay only charges a flat fee (of around $40) for sales of cars so it's a very cheap (money-wise) publicity stunt..These things happen more and more today because of what these cars are demanding so guess what may appear on BJ in Jan/07?? I think the car never sold to anyone and someone just made their car look like it is now that much more valuable by artificially inflating its price thru a great medium called ebay...

After talking with a couple people i found out that someone hacked the sellers account and started sending second chance offers to the lower bidders. Im not suprised ,that happened to me a couple years ago. Ebay then pulls the listing. I hope no one falls for the scammers second chance offers.
