Satin Clear Coat
a friend at work wants me to paint his bike and satin clear coat it. never used this before. can this be wet sanded and buffed (not for shine, just for smoothness), or is this stuff a "spray and go" item?

Do not sand and buff it, just spray it. Just be sure to strain it thoroughly, maybe a few times. Flattened clear (satin) sometimes has very little chunks of flattening compound suspended in it. If you don't catch it with the strainer, it will pass through the gun and leave a blob on the surface. Since you can't sand and buff it out, it means starting over.
