Maybe if that 326 is running OK, you can keep looking and hold out for a 455 or 428...

Thanks I ran across those postings on CL as well. I contacted one of the sellers and the engine has been sold.

I think I may try to use the 326 for now since it runs good and hold out for the 455. I've been spending my time reading up on engines while looking for engines and I think the 455 would really make a nice addition!!

We pulled front end parts from a 90's Roadmaster, so I may have confused or fused the mileage numbers.

I can say that the rotating assembly turns easily.

I only go to Pomona once in awhile now. it's not what it use to be. Good luck in finding any core engines left, I think most of them were turned in the last time scrap metal prices went up. Rumor is they get $800.00 a pop for blocks in Phoenix.

The $800 is for a good core block,I don't know for sure, that's just what I heard. I heard 2 different people wanted that kind of money......In case you missed the swap meet in San Diego, here is a pic. There is also suppose to be a real good swap meet in Glendale AZ in 2 weeks, it's 2 days long and they don't advertise it, it's suppose to be real big. You have to get there on Saturday to get the good stuff.

So, how much for a good, standard core out of a 72 or 74 Grand Prix...455. Never bored, and the crank is std/std. I might just unload it to get a forged crank and a new IA2 block, some Ross pistons, an efi setup, and roller cam.
